Dental Implants in Scottsdale & Avondale
Dr. Robert Guyette is an expert in placement of dental implants. With offices in both Scottsdale and Avondale, he serves patients throughout the metro Phoenix area.
Whether you have a missing tooth or need to have a tooth removed and replaced, a Dental Implant is the perfect option. Modern dental technology can restore your quality of life with teeth that are strong and look and feel like natural teeth.
Unlike a dental bridge, when placing an implant, the teeth on either side of the missing tooth are left intact. As long as you are in good health and there is adequate bone to support the implant, you should expect the dental implant to last you for years, even a lifetime. The implant tooth will feel like your own.
Replacing a single tooth with an implant may involve three phases to complete. During the first phase, Dr. Guyette will place the implant into the jaw. We offer IV sedation in our state-of-the-art surgical facility to keep you comfortable. However, many people undergo the placement of the implant using only local anesthesia. Typically, you will then wait about 3 months before the implant can then be restored with a permanent dental crown. Your personal dentist will be restoring the implant once Dr. Guyette is confident that the implant has healed securely.
Can a dental implant be placed on the same day as the tooth is extracted?
Yes! In some cases, Dr. Guyette will determine that there is enough bone in place to support placing a dental implant the same day as a tooth is surgically removed, especially in the case of a front, single rooted tooth. Dr. Guyette and your dentist will work together to fabricate a temporary tooth that will stay in place until the porcelain crown can be permanently placed.
