Brow & Forehead Lift - Scottsdale & Avondale
As we age, horizontal wrinkles appear in the forehead and our eyebrows begin to sag. This results in an old or tired appearance. By repositioning the eyebrows and tightening the forehead, the forehead wrinkles are decreased and the brows are elevated into a more youthful appearing position.
This procedure is frequently performed in conjunction with other surgeries, such as Eyelid Surgery and Face Lift.
If you are physically healthy, do not smoke, and have a positive and realistic goal of how you want to look, this procedure may be for you. Call our office today and schedule a consultation with Dr. Guyette. Each person has different goals and concerns about their looks and Dr. Guyette considers each patient individually. He will be happy to answer all of your questions during your appointment.
DURING YOUR CONSULTATION
Dr. Guyette will evaluate your health history and your goals. After performing a complete evaluation of our eyes and face, a customized recommendation will be made. Be prepared to discuss why you want the surgery and your desired outcome. He will ask about your medical health, any pre-existing health conditions, and any medication you are taking.
After taking into consideration the information about you and your desired outcome, Dr. Guyette will discuss the options and recommendations he has for you and he will discuss any potential complications from the surgery.
BEFORE YOUR SURGERY
You may be asked to have medical checkup in order to ensure you are healthy enough for surgery. If you smoke, you will be asked to stop smoking well in advance of the surgery and we will want you to avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and Vitamin E-all of which can increase bleeding. You will be given specific instructions on what to do the night before and the morning of surgery. Antibiotics may be prescribed to help prevent infection. You will want to make arrangements to have someone drive you to your appointment, drive you home after the procedure, and stay with you for at least the first night after surgery.
Your surgery will be performed in one of our state-of-the-art surgical facilities. When you arrive, you will be welcomed into our surgery area and the medications for the intravenous sedation will be administered. Once sedated and comfortable, Dr. Guyette will perform your customized procedure.
AFTER THE PROCEDURE
After the surgery, a compression dressing is placed. This will help minimize the swelling and bruising. If antibiotics were prescribed, you will take them for several days after the surgery. Ice compresses and elevating your head will help reduce the swelling. You will be given specific instructions on how to care for your surgery site. You will be closely followed in our office. Dr. Guyette, or a colleague, is always available to answer any questions you may have concerning the healing process.
