Facial Injuries | Guyette Facial & Oral Surgery, Scottsdale, AZ

Dr. Robert Guyette and Dr. Mark Beehner are board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons who have treated hundreds of facial trauma patients.

Trauma remains a major health and social issue in the United States. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people of all ages sustain facial injuries from automobile collisions, firearms, athletic activities, or altercations. The result may be soft tissue damage to the face and scalp or fractures of the facial bones.

After an injury to the face, most people should go to the emergency room to seek medical attention and to rule out injuries that may be life-threatening. Many times a CT scan may be required. After an initial evaluation, the patient will likely be instructed to contact a Maxillofacial & Oral surgeon for further diagnosis and treatment. Facial Injuries Treated at Guyette Facial & Oral Surgery Center

When a patient arrives at Guyette Facial & Oral Surgery Center, s/he will be thoroughly evaluated by Dr. Guyette or Dr. Beehner and, if needed, treatment options will be discussed in detail. If a CT scan was taken at the hospital, it is recommended to bring a copy to the appointment, otherwise, the CT scan can be performed in our office. The extent of treatment depends on the severity of the injury, and good follow-up care is critical to obtain the best long-term result possible.
