Facial Cyst Removal Before/After Photo

This is an 18-year-old male patient who was referred to Dr. Robert Guyette in Scottsdale, AZ for a possible salivary stone on the right side of his face along his jaw area.

The patient noticed some swelling on the right side of his jaw a while back but did not have any discomfort.  He thought it might be related to his third molars (wisdom teeth).  However, over time he did notice that the area did continue to grow slowly.

Dr. Guyette determined that this was a 2cm x 3cm firm, mobile, subcutaneous mass.  It was most likely a cystic lesion just below his right ear lobe.  Dr. Guyette discussed the surgical procedure, the risks and benefits of the, and a surgery date was set.

The excision of the lesion was preformed in the office surgery center under IV sedation.  The cyst was removed and sent to a pathologist for evaluation.

The post-operative photos were taken 3 months after the surgery.  The patient said he was very happy with the results.
