"I recently was a patient of Dr. Guyette and I had a great experience. I found him to be very knowledgeable, kind and had a great bedside manner."*
The Cutera CoolGlide Laser works by halting the growth of the hair that is in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hair will enter the active growth phase at different times, additional treatments are necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area. For best results, Guyette Facial & Oral Surgery recommends a minimum of six treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required; however, some patients do prefer to use a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are treated.
Please do not wear makeup or moisturizing creams on the area to be treated. Regular skin care routine is the only preparation for this procedure. Please shave the areas to be treated before you come in for treatment. The treatment areas will be less sensitive if you have shaved at least 3-4 hours before the procedure.
The length of the laser hair reduction procedure itself can take just over a few minutes for the upper lip area to an hour or more for more extensive areas, such as a gentleman’s chest or back.
