Guyette Facial & Oral Surgery Center | Scottsdale, Phoenix, Avondale, AZ
The temporomandibular joint, or TMJ, is a small joint located in the front of the ear where the skull and lower jaw meet. It permits the lower jaw to move and function. TMJ disorders are not uncommon, and patients may complain of earaches, headaches and limited ability to open their mouth. Some people also notice a clicking or popping sound when opening and closing their mouth.
As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. Guyette and Dr. Smutko can determine the cause of the TMJ disorder. As there is a range of treatment options, it is best to schedule an initial consultation to formulate a plan that’s right for your situation.
